An Amazing Amazon Delivery Service Partner

DKL is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner that is minority, woman and veteran owned. We deliver packages and smiles to many of Atlanta’s finest residents every day. We’re looking for dedicated individuals who are inspired and motivated to work smart and work hard in a team environment. As a Team Captain, you will be the face of our company while also representing Amazon and its values to our customers. It will be your job to consistently exceed customer expectations by making sure all orders are delivered with a smile, on time, safely, and to the right location. Currently, we are looking to fill both full- and part-time Team Captain positions in Atlanta(Sulivan Rd). As a Team Captain, you will be responsible for following company procedures while loading and delivering smiles (customer packages). Team Captains are eligible to work three or four 10-hour shifts per week, which includes weekend and holiday shifts.

Lead Driver Responsibilities

DAILY JOB DUTIES (Include but are not limited to):

  • Ensure Quick loadout
  • Ensure Standard Work Compliance – Mentor logins / scan compliance / clocking out for lunch.
  • Manages the daily work and safety of delivery associates, routing personnel and other associates. Ensuring that the staff is effectively accomplishing day to day delivery activities, including driver adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, and providing safe and efficient customer service.
  • Hire, Motivate, Discipline, Terminate, Develop, Train, coach, delivery associates. Interpreting and constantly enforcing company policy and procedures to staff.
  • Department planning, not limited to scheduling, staffing, and budget decisions. Managing labor hours, travel, fuel and consumable supplies within budget, maximizing time and cost efficiencies. Suggests efficiency and cost reduction measures
  • Ensure transportation department’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensures that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.
  • Deliver ~80-100 packages per day, then serve as a rover or dispatch (could be more if needed to take a full route)
  • Coordinate Attendance of team members.
  • Coordinate load out assists
  • Work with Dispatch to coordinate rescues for team.
  • Load-out/Close Out to company standards
  • Mobile dispatch to coordinate rescues / After finishing your deliveries, monitor and Ultimately accountable for the daily performance of your team – including delivery of all packages, team metrics, team adherence to company policy.
  • Set a good example for your team — BE ON TIME ALL THE TIME!
  • Open or Close based on schedule of other Team Leads
  • coordinate rescues for your team / Coordinate with other team captains for rescues between teams.
  • Communicate with team members at least 2x per day to check on progress
  • Run 5 minute stand-up meeting (Virtual/In-Person)
  • Carry extra rabbits / Spare Keys / supplies while on the road and distribute when needed.
  • Inspect vehicles thoroughly at end of shift.
  • Execute Ride-along to properly train new DA Employees
  • Debrief with each team member as needed
  • Provide any notes to OPS & Dispatch.
  • Create and execute ongoing team safety/performance improvement

Lead Driver Requirements

Delivery King Logistics accepts a wide range of applicants with varying levels of experience as professional lead drivers in delivery services. We provide thorough on-the-job training so that all of our employees feel confident on the road and the doorsteps of Amazon customers. Our main priority is drivers that we can trust to drive safely and deliver on time.
Here are the requirements you must meet to get a job at DKL:
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Holds a valid driver’s license (no CDL required)
  • Can work weekends
  • Has a good driving history
  • Has a positive attitude
  • Able to speak English (being bilingual is a bonus)
  • Available to work weekends and holidays
  • Has a proven track record of reliability
  • Has prior experience representing a well-regarded consumer brand with professionalism
  • Min. 750 FICO on Mentor
  • Min. 20 Deliveries per on zone hour (per Amazon performance score card)
  • 100% adherence to Standard Work
  • Zero call offs in last 30 days and no more than 3 Demerits
  • Zero Tier 1 or Tier 2 Amazon infractions

Physical Requirements

Just like with any other delivery driver job, there is a physical component to working for DKL. These are important because they help us maintain consistently high-quality service for every customer. Here are the physical requirements you must meet to work for us:
  • Lift a maximum of 50 pounds during an 8 to 10-hour work shift
  • Appropriately handle stressful driving demands including inclement weather conditions
  • Climb stairs, reach overhead, squat/bend/kneel during an 8 to 10-hour work shift
